In the Bathhouse depicts a communal bathhouse shaped by the influence of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, pleasure and celebration. Figures gather in moments of leisure, flirtation and intimacy, evoking the bathhouse as a space of encounter, desire and possibility. The presence of Dionysus infuses the scene with an atmosphere of sensuality and freedom, where pleasure and connection unfold beyond the boundaries of everyday life.
The unglazed surface recalls the appearance of ancient Greek ceramics, while the imagery reimagines classical themes through a contemporary queer lens.
