VI โ€“ Stymphalian Birdsย draws on Herculesโ€™ sixth labour. In which he was tasked with defeating the Stymphalian Birds, a flock of man-eating creatures whose sharp metallic feathers could be launched like weapons. Unable to approach the birds hidden within the dense forest and marshes surrounding Lake Stymphalia, Hercules received help from Athena, who provided a bronze rattle crafted by Hephaestus. The noise startled the birds into flight, allowing Hercules to shoot them from the sky with his arrows, tipped with the venom of the Lernaean Hydra.
